When farmers from a previous ADRA project in Ghana faced undercutting by buyers, it became more profitable for them to burn their cashew trees for charcoal. We decided it was time to turn that story around and bring sustainability full circle. Now, fair prices for their cashews uplift both the farmers and their entire community. Our Story
Agnes Druwaa: Growing Hope in Ghana
In the village of Boabeng, Ghana, Agnes Druwaa planted cashew trees decades ago with ADRA’s support. But without fair buyers, she was forced to sell her harvest at a fraction of its value.
Then Hope Harvest stepped in — paying nearly double the local price. Now, Agnes can support her family, send her grandchildren to school, and expand her farm.
“It’s a true partnership,” she says, thankful for the difference it has made. Agnes is hopeful and excited for many more years to come.
